Week 1: Off to a Slow Start
The reset may have had a rather slow start, but let's recap week 1 and my results so far.

Week 1 is in the books! It was definitely a slower start to the reset than I would’ve liked, but if I waited until the “perfect” week to start this challenge, I’d be waiting until 2030.
Each week, my plan is to give a brief recap of what I accomplished in the week prior, a reminder of each of my goals, and a plan for the week to come. So without further ado, let’s recap week one!
Pillar 1: Image & Mindset
Obviously, this is a more long-term goal focused on daily practice and affirmation, however, I still think I made some progress. I wrote out a new morning routine for workdays and weekends, although my day job involved staying out of town for 3 days last week, so I was only able to stick to the routine very loosely.
For week two, I plan to follow this routine a lot closer. I’ll also be working on the “image” portion of this goal by creating a new self-care routine to start following.
Pillar 2: Health & Fitness
Again, because my day job had me out of town for much of the week, I wasn’t able to make as much progress as I would’ve liked. However, I did start a basic workout routine once I got home, as well as taking a set of before pictures and measurements so I can see the progress over the following weeks.
For week two, I’ll be diving into the workout routine (PiYo from Beachbody) fully and focusing a little more on a healthy diet and drinking more water.
Pillar 3: Finances
This pillar saw the most progress, I think, with my tax refund hitting my bank account I was able to put a little over $2,000 towards my last credit card balance. I was able to top-up my buffer fund, so I’m back to having a full month of bills and expenses set aside.
In week two, I should be able to finish paying off the last credit card balance and I’ll start working on an updated YNAB template so I can track my spending in April (and beyond) with more detail.
Pillar 4: Hobbies & Social Life
Even with the trip out of town, I did make some progress here. I was able to spend a night out with friends, which is something I haven’t done in ages. Since I was on spring break (what an exciting break… a work trip), I didn’t have any school work to do, however that changes next week.
Week two will focus on starting the final (!!) class of my degree, and I can already tell that will take up a lot of “hobby” time. However, I still want to make it a point to get out of the house and socialize at least once a week, so we’ll see what I get into this week.
Pillar 5: Building an Audience
Finally we have pillar #5, building an audience. Obviously, I’m achieving this goal right now by publishing this. For week one, my main goal was to get this blog up and running, which I did.
In week two, my plan is to create a couple of social media profiles for my own personal use, and I’ll be tagging the blog when I do. I’m actively trying to avoid focusing too much on analytics or view counts or anything like that - “build it and they will come” is the mindset for the reset.
Again, week one definitely wasn’t as productive or life changing as I would’ve liked, but I’m laying the groundwork now and in the next couple of weeks for some real progress and I can’t wait to share more and more of this journey each week. On to week two!
